Interim Service

AGS recommend interim servicing every 6,000 miles or every 6 months, covering the following checks.

A complete Interim Service comprises the following checks:

STAGE 1: Road Test

  1. Check clutch operation for clutch drag, clutch slip, clutch judder or noise and adjustment, where possible

STAGE 2: Vehicle On Floor

  1. Check windscreen wiper operation and condition
  2. Check rear wiper operation and condition
  3. Check windscreen washer mechanism and top up washer fluid if required
  4. Check operation of exterior lights, such as brake lights, side lights, fog lights, headlights and full beam, indicators and reversing lights
  5.  Check horn operation
  6.  Check and top-up power steering reservoir (if the vehicle employs power steering)
  7. Check Brake Fluid Level & Top Up if the brake fluid is low
  8.  Check & Top up clutch fluid, where applicable & Top Up if the clutch fluid is low

STAGE 3: Vehicle On Ramp

  1. Check and report wheel alignment status and/or geometry
  2. Inspect exhaust system and catalyst (if fitted) for leaks, security and noise
  3. Check shock absorber condition and operation. Report on any leaks if serious
  4. Check wheel bearings for excessive play. Check for noise
  5. Check condition of steering rack gaiters
  6. Check the system for general oil leaks and report any leaks of note
  7. Remove Road wheels
  8. Check tyre size and tyre fitment as per side wall instructions
  9. Check condition of tyre, tread depth, including spare
  10. Check tyre pressures and adjust if necessary, including spare wheel if applicable
  11. Check wheel balance, including spare if applicable
  12. Check brake pads for wear, damage or fluid leaks
  13. Check Brake discs or drums for excessive wear, cracks, corrosion, scoring and pitting
  14. Check brake callipers for leaks, integrity and security
  15. Check foot brake shoes for wear or damage
  16. Inspect operation of brake wheel cylinders and report any leaks, defects or damage
  17. Visually check brake hydraulic system, including pipes and hoses for any leaks, chafing, pinching and corrosion where visible. Look for signs of internal corrosion.
  18. Check steering / suspension components for wear, excessive play and corrosion
  19. Check drive shaft gaiters for positional security, condition and report leaks

STAGE 4: Service Tasks

  1. Engine oil change. Drain and refill engine oil
  2. Fit new oil filter
  3. Set wheel nut torque to manufacturer’s recommended settings

STAGE 5: Scheduled Service Tasks

  1. Check replacement of timing belt interval & report if mileage or age is exceeded*
  2. Check replacement of Pollen Filter interval and report if mileage or age is exceeded
  3. Reset the vehicle service light (if applicable)**
  4. Stamp the service book

STAGE 6: Road Test

  1. Test the vehicle on the road, check for any obvious noises and vibrations
